Statistics

Journalists depend on HIV statistics to contextualise stories. Statistics tell the reader or viewer why your story is important. Although estimates vary between agencies, even the lowest estimates are frightening reminders of the extent of the HIV epidemic.

These factsheets examine global and South African statistics with a focus on HIV infection and mortality and on funding for HIV and AIDS-related issues.
