Today's Mail&Guardian featured an article on male circumcision, titled Circumcision can be the kindest cut, discussion the tensions and areas of common interest between medical male circumcision and initiation (of which traditional male circumcision is an aspect).
We are pleased to see this nexus between medical intervention and traditional practices being explored in South Africa's media.
Medical male circumcision can reduce the male (insertive) partner's chance of contracting the HI virus by up to 60%.
