The HIV & AIDS Media Project endeavours to equip often under resourced journalists to produce quality HIV-reports. In order to do this, JournAIDS is in the process of developing health awareness day based press kits consisting of factsheets, technical information, statistics, and useful contacts.

 

 

 

 

journAIDS (May 2012) Tuberculosis press kit

This press pack includes basic facts on TB, a graphic on how TB behaves in the body and a history of TB in South Africa. The press pack also contains information on ethical reporting and a contact list.

 

 

 

 

journAIDS (March 2012) HIV vaccine press pack

This HIV vaccine press kit has information on how vaccines work and the different types of vaccines used in HIV vaccine research. It also includes a detailed history on the major clinical trials involving HIV vaccines.

 

 

Wits Journalism Anova Health

The project is jointly managed by the Anova Health Institute and the Journalism and Media Studies Programme at the University of the Witwatersrand, and supported by the Health Communication Partnership based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Centre for Communication Programmes and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS relief through the United States Agency for International Development under terms of Award No. JH/HESA-02-05.
